A local young woman took home top talent honors last night as the Miss Indiana and Miss Indiana Outstanding Teen pageants continue this week.
Miss Metropolitan’s Outstanding Teen, 17-year-old Ellie Barmes of Vincennes, won the talent portion of the Miss Outstanding Teen Pageant last night in Zionsville. Barmes sang a rendition of “Ireland” for the competition.
Another honor was bestowed upon a local woman, although it wasn’t for pageantry, but rather dedication. For years, Barbara Helm of Washington has donated her time to the Miss Indiana pageant, and last night, she was recognized. A new ‘Barbara Helm Miracle Maker’ award was established for the annual pageant, and awarded to one contestant from each pageant.
