Oaktown will be celebrating their history beginning next week.
The newly christened ‘Oaken Days’ event kicks off on Friday, June 22nd at 5:00 p.m. with an alumni reunion for graduates of Oaktown High School. That’s how the event got its start nearly twenty years ago. The reunion will take place in the Oaktown Community Center. From there, events of all kinds will run through the weekend, culminating in a parade at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Rebecca Roach is helping to organize the event, and says there is still time to sign up for the parade.
Inbetween those two events, attendees will have the opportunity to play games, listen to live music, get active and more! A softball tournament begins Saturday at 7:00 a.m. and runs through Sunday. Saturday will also see a 5k Run, Tug of War, car shows, a tractor pull and fireworks. Events will take place all across Oaktown during the weekend.
The entire weekend-long event is being sponsored by the Greater Oaktown Organization for Development. For a full list of events and start times, you can visit the Oaken Days Facebook page.
