Upgrade Vincennes Program Seeing Interest

Posted on July 11th, 2018

The Vincennes Urban Enterprise Association has received plenty of interest in their Upgrade Vincennes program.

The idea behind the project is simple: Local homeowners within the Urban Enterprise Zone can come before the UEA to present projects they hope to accomplish, much like businesses do. The UEA then makes a ruling whether or not to reimburse the homeowners up to $5,000 for the work.

The Board heard from two homeowners hoping to receive those reimbursements at their meeting Tuesday night, and know of a handful of other interested parties hoping to take advantage of Upgrade Vincennes, as well.

Per the terms of the application, the home must be owner occupied and only exterior work will be reimbursed. Recently, there has also been discussion about other city entities, namely the Redevelopment Commission, providing assistance to improve more homes within the Urban Enterprise Zone.
