A Loogootee man led police on a high speed chase Wednesday in Clay County.

Police say a car driven by Kyle Lee was clocked going 100 miles per hour before turning onto I-70 West. He was pursued and evaded police until Brazil Police placed stop sticks on I-70 near 23 mile-marker.

Lee avoided the stop sticks by exiting southbound on State Road 59. When Lee saw police a little further ahead, he did a U-Turn and drove into a field to escape. Officers caught up with Lee, arrested him, and charged him with possession of a stolen vehicle along with other traffic violations.
