Plans for the renovation of Vigo Elementary continue to move forward.
Three bids, and three alternates, were awarded at the Vincennes Community School Board meeting last night, while one bid was tabled until next month’s meeting. The board formally awarded contracts with Wolfe Construction, Tri-State Fire Protection, and Weyer Electric. The alternates include classroom educational casework and food service equipment that would be awarded to Wolfe Construction, and installing a strip type of lighting structure similar to what was installed at Riley and Tecumseh-Harrison, which was awarded to Weyer Electric.
The mechanical bid will be settled at April’s meeting. Vincennes Superintendent Greg Parsley said he’s hopeful they can negotiate and award a contract for that without having to re-bid.
