Posted on April 16th, 2018

The driver of a car that crashed near the intersection of 12th and Scott streets died from apparent medical complications.

Knox County Coroner Brian Hagen says 44-year-old Brian Roberts died after being transported from the accident scene to Good Samaritan Hospital. According to Hagen, family members say Roberts had suffered a heart attack back in March and was treated in Evansville.

The accident happened around 2:00 p.m. sunday. Roberts’ vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into a stone retention barrier at the corner of 12th and Scott.

Roberts was the only one inside the car at the time of the accident. Hagen says an autopsy will be performed tomorrow morning at Good Samaritan Hospital.
