Vincennes YMCA Blood Drive

The YMCA of Vincennes is hosting a blood drive for the American Red Cross on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The drive will be held in Gym #2 of the YMCA. Coat, Hat and Scarf drive

Nugas Propane Service Center will be collecting new or gently used coats, hats, scarfs, and gloves through January 15th. They will be donating them to the Office of Family Services in Vincennes. Any donations can be dropped off at our location, 3168 S Old 41. Our office hours are 8-5 lunch daily 12-1.

The Knox County Marine Corps Reserve is once again sponsoring this program. You may contribute to this program by bringing in new, unwrapped toys and placing them in the box located just outside the door of the Vincennes University Administrative Wing of the Administration Building on the Vincennes Campus. The toys will be picked up on Friday, December 15, and distributed to less fortunate youngsters in the area. All toys brought into Knox County will be given to Knox County youth.

Join WVUB at the Downtwon Vincennes Christmas Parade of Lights on Friday November 17th at 6:30 p.m.  We will be collecting canned goods along the parade route for Helping His Hands!



Craft for Coach U
Saturday November 11-Freelandville, IN

Whatever your crafting hobby is: scrapbooking, stamping, card making, knitting, jewelry making, painting, photography, sewing and so on, this day is for you! Bring your supplies and enjoy spending the day (or part of the day) doing what you love with great fellowship, food and fun! Plus you will be blessing the Brian Deborah Udovich Family, as all proceeds will go to them.

Cost $20/person. Lunch/Supper provided with some door prizes given out.

Please bring a snack to share, if attending.

Craft yard sale – bring your unwanted craft items to sell for an even bigger donation to the Udovichs!

Raffle Table – there will be lots of great raffle items you can buy chances to win. Tickets are 1/$1.00 or 6/$5.00. So do not have to attend event to buy. Need not be present to win.

First Christian Church – 4th & Broadway, Vincennes

Coney Supper – November 17 from 4 till 6:30 PM in Heritage Hall.
All proceeds go to the family of Brian Udovich, North Knox coach, who passed away in September, leaving behind his wife, 3 children and his father. Come warm up with a good meal and help a family this year before the Christmas parade.
Tickets are $6 for those 13 years and older, $4 for 12 through 4 and children under 3 eat free!

Food Drive November 6 – November 18, 2017

Benefit the Vincennes Food Pantry and the Lord’s Warehouse. Donations of canned goods, hygiene products, and dry goods can be dropped off in Mountain of Mercy boxes at SCHOTT Gemtron lobby, Kinetico of Vincennes, Jefferson Student Union on the VU campus, and First Church of God office during the normal business hours. No expired products please.

Join us for our 8th Annual Fun Run/Walk to raise awareness and funds for the North Knox Social Minstries. The NKSM is a non-for-profit organizations that serves families in the North Knox area that have fallen on hard times. All registration money goes directly to the NKSM to buy supplies to help local families. Registration is $20/person or $15/person for teams of four or more. With registration, you receive a t-shirt and 5 door prize tickets. Door prize tickets can also be obtain with non perishable food donation. ie. one can of soup = one additional ticket or purc hased day of event. Kids First Foundation-Goodwill Prom

It’s Prom time again! Hit up a Goodwill to find your favorite prom attire! Our theme this year is Hollywood, so come as your favorite actor/movie character! Doors open at 7:00. Band/DJ playing 8:00-12:00. Photo booth provided by TRPhotography. Cash bar inside, no outside alcohol please!
$20 per couple at the door, $30 if not in Prom theme attire! All proceeds are going to the North Knox Kids First Foundation.

The Children’s Nutcracker at the Knox County Library

An unexpected gift will be delivered to the Knox County Public Library on Friday December 15th at 4:30pm.
A group of dancers from the Evansville Center for Dance Education will perform scenes from the Nutcracker Ballet at the Fortnightly, 421 N. 6th Street, Vincennes, at 4:30pm on Friday, December 15, 2017. The performance will last approximately 30 minutes and dancers will answer questions about the production following the performance.

All performances of scenes from the Nutcracker, are free to local audiences, and are made possible by a donation from the Knox County Republican Party.

Christmas Events in Bicknell

Santa has requested for a mailbox to be placed in Bicknell, Indiana. His location of choice is North Side Park where all the beautiful lights , naughty and nice list, and all the amazing decorationswill be that he has been enjoying the last few years. He says he will be able to see it all when he comes to get the letters. How exciting!!!!! All you need to do is sit down with your family, make it a classroom event, or go solo . Now , the best part is….Are you ready for this ?? Santa exploded the exciting news to us today… Santa will write back to each and every one of the letters…Please make sure you leave the address that Santa needs to return your letter . If you are a teacher doing this as a group, please wrap a rubber band around the letters and include if you want the letters sent back to the school or to the child’s house. We will need an address for Santa to write back..Santa’s elves will be placing the mailbox at the North Side Park on December 1st @ 6pm..The elves will then return to pick the mailbox and letters up on December 15th @ 6pm.. Santa and his elves will answer letters on December, 16th and 17th.
